Eagle One serves an ace during Wimbledon week
It’s been a busy week for two of Eagle One’s destination shopping centres, The Valley, Evesham and Wilton Shopping Village, as they served a tennis treat by screening the live action from SW19 with their pop-up tennis events.
Delivered by event partners Radiquip Media UK, the one-off events included giant screens, deckchairs and even a pop-up short tennis court to entertain budding tennis stars of the future.
Wilton Shopping Village experienced a footfall uplift of 16% from the previous week, while The Valley, Evesham recorded an impressive 19% increase on turnover throughout all its stores compared to the same week in 2017.
Phil Maclean, Retail Marketing Manager, said “We invested heavily on delivering these quality events, and are delighted with the outcome. It was a brilliant vehicle for promoting our centres as a whole, with a marketing campaign reaching over 173,000 people via our social media channels and a press campaign that achieved a reach of 42,000 readers, which included front page news!
A huge value was gained by increasing visitor dwell time, as seen in The Valley’s figures. We were also able to offer airtime on the giant screens to our key retail partners, enabling them to showcase their brands directly to the visiting shoppers, providing even more value to the process.
The short tennis court we installed was such a big hit at The Valley that we’ve decided to keep it for the remainder of the summer holidays”.
Reaction via our social media channels was overwhelmingly positive, here are a few comments posted online:
