Demolition begins ahead of construction of new Aquila Court building in Bath

Demolition progresses ahead of construction of new Aquila Court student housing scheme in Bath.

The first step towards the development of the new Aquila Court buildings in the centre of Bath have begun, with the demolition of the old Pickfords building on Lower Bristol Road.  Replacing the former self-storage facility will be premium student accommodation. The new development will provide 201 student bedrooms in two blocks; one of 174 beds in cluster flats with the balance across 3 townhouses. Residents will benefit from high quality communal spaces including study areas, an on-site gym and be provided with superfast broadband.

Located in the centre of Bath, the site is just a short walk from the city’s main attractions, bars and restaurants and Bath Spa railway station.

Planning permission for the development was granted in November 2017 and the building will be completed for the start of the 2020/2021 academic year.
