Post-lockdown footfall shoots of recovery at The Valley Evesham

New footfall data following the gradual easing of COVID-19 lockdown measures reveals an encouraging trend for retail as it looks to slowly reopen to the public.

Blue Diamond Home & Garden and Grape Tree reopened to visitors on the 13th May and since then the scheme has welcomed over 50% of their usual footfall – hitting nearly 13,000 visitors each week.

The scheme’s 125 acres of countryside has also proved ever popular with people seeking safe and accessible outdoor space for exercise.

Phil Maclean, Marketing Director at The Valley, comments:

“It has been wonderful to see a healthy post-lockdown appetite for gardening, health food products and an increase in people looking to keep fit.

The Valley’s plentiful outdoor space both in the shopper area and country park is proving a favourable combination for people looking to venture out safely.

During the lockdown, we remained busy preparing and maintaining the site for when we could fully reopen and with focus on providing a safe, managed and welcoming environment to our returning 1.3 million annual visitors.

We have been actively promoting and implementing social distancing throughout the communal areas at The Valley.  Regular PA announcements, new clear signage, shopper flow management and face to face marshalling”.

Following the latest Government guidelines, the remainder of The Valley’s 20 shops and cafés will be opening in the coming weeks.
